This piece weighs 2 Lb 0.3 Oz and measures 4.75 x 4 x 3″. From Kakada, Congo Cobalto Calcite is a fairly uncommon mineral with a vivid pink color, which comes from Cobalt impurities within the stone. Specimens will very often include Dolomite, which can be difficult to differentiate in micro-crystalline pieces; thus the name “Salrose” is used to refer to both. This large, sparkling specimen features a thick blanket of deep pink drusy crystals. It is a beautiful piece with a commanding presence, and will be a showstopper in any collection.
